Whether you’re looking for an illustration of your character for social media, or want me to design the book covers for your next romantasy series, I want to be sure that you get exactly what you’re dreaming of!
Please provide me with as much information as you can on your project upfront. This includes descriptions of your characters, the setting, clothing, mood, etc. If you have moodboards or references, I’d love to see them - anything that will really help me understand your vision!
Based on your project, I will provide you with a quote. Full payment upfront is required before I start working.
I complete work in three phases (draft, lineart, colour) - I will confirm your acceptance at each stage. This is your chance to tell me if anything needs changing.
I allow 2 rounds of revisions at each stage. Each time you ask, you can include as many changes as you’d like, so please group your feedback where possible. Additional revisions might incur a fee.
Once complete, I will e-mail you the art in the agreed format. Please note that all art is digital only - I do not issue prints.
-
I aim to complete all commissions within 4 weeks of full payment being received.*
Sometimes, timeframes might be longer, for example due to bank holidays or other commitments. We will agree timescales before I accept the commission to make sure this works for you.
I do not generally accept turnarounds of less than 4 weeks, and a rush fee will be applied in this instance.
*Timeframes are dependent on you responding promptly at each stage of approval (sketch, lineart, colour).
-
The above prices are starting prices only. The exact price will depend on the complexity of the illustration and its use. Remember - every commission is different!
Once we’ve discussed your project, I will be able to provide a personalised quote.
-
Art can be commissioned for commercial use, for example book covers, book box illustrations, character art prints, etc.
I charge a fee proportional to usage. When commissioning me, please make sure to specify how and where you intend to use the art to ensure I can quote accurately.
-
Full payment must be received before I start work. All payments must be made through Paypal and will include the Paypal fee.
Example Process
Sketch
The purpose of the sketch is to give you an idea of what the composition will look like.
At this stage, I’m able to change almost anything! Examples of changes could include the pose, hand placement, background, etc.
The sketch will be loose but should provide a good idea of the final image in terms of overall composition and key elements.
Lineart
The lineart is a refined version of the sketch with all key elements in clean lines.
At this stage, I am able to adjust small things which might not have been clear at sketch stage. Examples of changes could include the hairstyle, clothing details, adding elements to the background, etc.
I will not be able to resize the image, flip the orientation, change the pose, etc. These changes would require redoing the sketch and as such would incur an additional fee.
Colour
This is a fully coloured and rendered image representing the finished piece.
At this stage, I am able to change any of the colours used or the light/mood. To make the process easier, I recommend we agree in advance on the time of day and lighting you’d like for your piece (for example, a night scene lit by candlelight or bright daylight with strong sunshine) as well as specific colours for your characters’ clothing.
I will not be able to change the lineart. These changes would require extensive editing and would incur an additional fee.
